“….Closing the first evening, however, was a rare and most unusualtreat.DakinWilliams, Tennessees brother, performed a rib-splitting parody of AStreetcar Named Desire with himself playing Blanche DuBoisinfull drag.Stanleyand Stella stood on the stage silent, their backs to the audience,with only placards to identify them, while Dakin flitted around them,using his brothers famous fey but listless delivery, mercilesslyparaphrasing Blanche to great comic effect. Wearing a drab pinkhousecoat and cheap platinum wig, he was particularly hilarious whenhe fended off Stanleys attempted rape by saying, "Hey, Ive gotthis cruise coming up…."
